Meaghan has two boy friends....both about age 3

Isaac on the left and Bryon on the right. You can see the scar on his hand from the surgery. He lost two fingers to the doctors. They are caling it giantism

I have not had time for a few days to put anything up. The teams finished their trip well with visits to Rehema children's home and All Nations School. We had 2 days together in Nairobi where we shopped, visited a park where we fed monkeys - visted the Nairobi game park, and an elephant sanctuary as well as a Giraffe home where all but Barb and I put a food pellet in our mouth and they took the food from our mouth/ The 6 with us are all safely back in Canada.

Barb and I have flown on to Zanzibar. First two days at All Nations School were leadership training days for church leaders.... Joseph Mophat taught 3 sessions and he went back to Nairobi today - I taught 4 sessions. I am a little tired. We had about 30 pastors, evangelists and elders. I was open to a number of denominations. They asked if I could come again next year and do the same again. Time will tell. Christine said most of the leaders here have ha no training.

Tomorrow I am preaching at the Church so I am trusting I can bring an encouraging word.

Next week is school holidays here so we can help David and Christina with some practical things - I am hoping to build an African hen house so they can have some chickens. Similar to one I built for myself 38 years ago at Gituru. We may travel to some new parts of the island as well as to the Maasai church.

We are here another 10 days and the we are off to Nigeria. I will put up more pictures later.

A note for Judy Prince....we did not get Gluten free meals - or special meals for Josh. We called the airline in Nairobi before the plane left for home ( a week before) and told them of the special diet for Josh - he still did not get the meals...if he got eggs or milk he could have gone into anafalactic shock and died......so he ate nothing. Could you please contact the airline for Barbs glutten free meals on the April 8th flight to Lagos as well as the April 21 and 22nd flights back to Canada. Thanks. If the airline wishes to refund our mnoney due to their grevious mistake we will graciously accept. Thanks.

No pictures yet. Our connection here is over a cell phone and very slow - so hopefully when we get to Zanzibar it is faster and we can put a few photos on the site.

The children are so cute...and so responsive. (21 orphans frofm 1 month to 3 years)They are beautiful. Josh and Meaghan - two teens from our mission camp in Canada are doing great - songs, testimonies, skit, puppets and stories. We have visited 4 schools now - all different. Yesterday we went to our first high school and had many questions about Canada.

Sunday we have the church service. We invited the girls from the High School (it's a girls school) to attend our services if they did not go to any church - it will be interesting to see if any come. If we had a larger team we could have done a children's day. We have not heard a lot from the team in Zanziabr other than everything is going quite well.

My next post coulod be after we get to Zanzibar - time will tell.

We head back to Nairobi on Monday and meet with the Zanzibar team- then we will have one day to visit some sites - then on Wed. we will speak to the high school grads at Donholm Church - then in the afternoon pack to come home.

Blessings\

GREETINGS FROM AFRICA

We left Canada on time- but today is my first day on a computer since we left.

Flights were good - The Zanzibar team spent one night in Nairobi and then flew on\

On Saturday we went in to Nairobi and looked around - had a good day at Doonbholm Church. Our two teens went to a crusade in the evening and said it was amazing.

Monday we visited the Doonholm school and made our first presentationh which went well. Then we met with about 25 19 years olds who are taking a course at the Church. We talked a bit and answered questions for about an hour.

TOday we flew to Kisumu and Ian picked us up - took us to the orphganage and we arrived about 12. \they now have 21 children. We played with them for a while. After nap we gave them the teddy bears Meaghan had made for them. I will try and up load photos tomorrow. Right now we are without electricity so I am on battery power and transmitting over the cell phone in the dark.

Everyone is well and slowly geting over jet lag. Josh is on his first trip to Africa and says he really loves it. Tomorrow we visit our first Bujura school and have more time with the kids.\
Will try and update more this week.

Blessings

In less than 24 hours we will be flying to Detroit - then pick up the KLM bird to Amsterdam - and on to Nairobi where we arrive at 8:30 Friday evening. Almost everything is done....packing...and purchases.

Thanks to those of you who are following we will try and keep it updated...

If I can remember how to put in pictures I will put in a picture of some trees which were planted at All Nations School. Last year the Rescued Treasures Thrift Shoppe in Kitchener gave opeople a chance to donate funds for trees for Earth Day....as a result $40.00 came in and some trees have been planted - a lemon tree, a banana tree and some shrubs. It all helps.

Blessings

9 more days before we leave. Quite a bit of packing has been done - thanks to Barb. I am working on teachings - I have 15 lessons to prepare. We are having a leadership seminar in Tanzania, and in Nigeria there are 4 lessons for their annual conference- 3 are on breaking up fallow ground. One is on the work of relief and development. So Bill has his work cut out to get ready in time. But we know that God is leading and we are looking forward to time with our teens as well as our friends who work in the various nations.
